The moment I saw these booties online by chance, I fell in love with them: tiny, cozy cuties...
No doubt I immediately wanted to make them myself. And here you can see the results.
Booties are made without any seams or stitches from natural wool using just water and olive oil soap, in other words they are made using wet felting technique.
These natural wool booties are very suitable for babies as they are made from natural soft wool that lets the small feet breath.
Such booties are perfect for any season: they will keep the feet warm in winter and cool in summertime due to the natural properties of wool. In other words, felt warms in winter - cools in summer.
Felted shoes are lightweight, durable, water-repellent and non-allergic.
You can't imagine what all can be the usages of these felted boots:
- First and foremost, felted booties are beautiful garments for a just born baby;
- Pregnancy reveal to nearest and dearest - a perfect way to share the news with your loved ones;
- They are perfect for baby shower gift;
- Amazing birth announcement sign;
- Baby shower decoration or as nursery room decor;
- Such booties can be used as photo props for newborn photo sessions as well.
SIZE:
The booties are available at size 0-3 months, insole length 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).
CARE: gently hand wash at 30- 40C. Use mild detergents, reshape with hands while damp and leave to dry.

This ones packed in a self designed box were gifted to one of our relative who recently gave birth to a baby girl.
What is exceptional about these boots is that they were made in nuno felting technique. In other words, felted with fabric (lace in my case). The lace itself was in rose patterns and when the wool got completely felted the lace got shrunk creating the effect of prominent roses.
These booties are funny with that snail from one boot looking at the toadstool on the other one.
Remembered one nursery rhyme of a snowman singing about the falling snowflake :))
Working with wool is really exciting - you can't be 100% sure what will be the result. Like here I got a 3D effect with some snowflakes captured in a "falling" position :)))
Pistachio ice-cream baby booties
These boots are for a very naughty and playful baby born on Christmas or New year holidays. These mixed up shoes made in popular Christmas colors with favorite ornaments.
Here they are...the booties of the sky blue color with fluffy clouds from the cover of the post.
Though these boots are with tongues, they are still seamless because the tongues were felted together with the shoes.
The topic of Halloween is among my favorite after Christmas of course.
Jack o'lantern booties are not scary but cute.
