Felted booties for newbies

The moment I saw these booties online by chance, I fell in love with them: tiny, cozy cuties...
No doubt I immediately wanted to make them myself. And here you can see the results.

Booties are made without any seams or stitches from natural wool using just water and olive oil soap, in other words they are made using wet felting technique.

These natural wool booties are very suitable for babies as they are made from natural soft wool that lets the small feet breath.
Such booties are perfect for any season: they will keep the feet warm in winter and cool in summertime due to the natural properties of wool. In other words, felt warms in winter - cools in summer.
Felted shoes are lightweight, durable, water-repellent and non-allergic.

Cabled sweater coat ROWE

Finally, my dream come true - I knitted a cabled cardigan for myself! Another dream is to knit a cabled purse...perhaps I'll plan it for the near future.
I'm mad about cables in knitting, these patterns are always my favorite among all knitting technics. These textured and twisted designs make any garment look stunning.

I found this particular pattern here, it's called ROWE cabled sweater coat by designer MICHELE WANG. In fact, there are many marvelous and stylish patterns on BROOKLYN TWEED site specially made for hand knitters. I would love to knit something else from there some other time.

Hollow bead jewelry

Long time no hear from me.
This project was waiting long till I published it. The set was made to suit my outfit bought for the wedding of one of my husband's relative. Not for the traditional wedding, but for its western part - reception, where you can wear western clothes without any fear that you may look odd among all traditional colorful saris, kurtas etc.
The necklace is made with hollow beads from polymer clay, and I used extruder technic for the pattern.

The idea wit the zip on the bracelet came from the blouse, which has a golden color zipper on the back.

This it probably the first jewelry set which I made specially for me.

Lunch tote for my husband

One more lunch tote after a long period of time. I've fallen in love with that polar bear design. The pattern is again from my beloved sew4home, and the tutorial is here
My husband liked it a lot. It's just perfect for his lunch box, has a small pocket in front, and closing on a Velcro.
The bag finishes at approximately 11" tall (excluding the handles) x 7" wide x 3" deep. The handle loops extend an additional 9" beyond the top edge.

Backpack with Crossover Pockets

My son (5 year old) has recently started key board musical classes, and instead of irritating alwaysmakingnoise plastic bag for books that he had to drag to musical school every time, I decided to make this comfortable backpack. The pattern is taken from my favorite site sew4home. Click here for the tutorial.
The sizes - 15.5" X 12.5"

Polymer clay jewelry in extruder technic with micro macrame - necklace "Maharani's magic mirror"

The last piece of jewelry in Extruder + micromacrame technic. It turned out not that easy, I had to change the design multiple times till I became satisfied with it.
The internal length of the necklace till the strings 10.5" (27 cm). The length is adjustable.
The length of the central part is 4" (10 cm).

Polymer clay jewelry in extruder technic with micro macrame - necklace & earrings "Hidden diamonds"

The third set of jewelry from polymer clay in extruder technic necklace with earrings "Hidden diamonds". Despite the wire collar is quite short the jewelry look very long due to the fringes.
This set turned to be more experimental, that's why the design is unusual.
Wire collar length - 20" (50 cm),
width of the design - 4 5/8" (12 cm), length with fringes - 8" (20 cm),
length of the earrings - 5.5" (14 cm).

Polymer clay jewelry with extruder technic - necklace and bracelet with micro macrame "Glorious weave"

The second piece of a jewelry in extruder technic, but this time with micro macrame.
I decided to break all the traditional look of a necklace, making the wings on both sides of the pendant weaving from inside out.
The length of a necklace without the pendant - 22" (56cm),
length of the pendant - 23/8" (6 cm),
length of a bracelet - 8" (20 cm).

And some more photos...

Polymer clay jewelry with extruder technic - pendant with bracelet "Peacock eye"

I am very happy coz I finally finished this long lasting project on jewelries in extruder technic. And this is the first one made with kumihimo braids. Just for a start decided to call it "Peacock eye".
The length of kumihimo cord - 21" (53 cm), the length of a pendant 2.5" (6.5 cm),
bracelet -  8" long (20 cm).

Small puzzle ball

Thanks to my client I'll soon become a master of puzzle ball. This time it's two times smaller, only 5".
The previous one turned out to be very big for a small baby to play, so hope this one will become a good friend in exploring this world and obtaining necessary skills at the very beginning of life.
Special respect to baby's mother who chooses handmade developing toys for her child, coz there is always something special in such things, made with dedication and love.

Summer hats in Winter

After Christmas rabbits made post dates, I had an order on summer hats in winter. Though taking into account Indian weather conditions, one can wear such hats all year round.
Initially, I didn't think of creating this post for the hats, since these are repetition of what were made already once. But they came out a bit different and I'm also not a great fan of repeating and creating items again and again. To sum up the flowers on the ivory hat turned out to be darker and more dimensional and on the pink one a little ice-cream brooch was added.

Christmas bear

My crazy Christmas experiments are not limited by rabbits. This time I introduced the new member to my funny rabbits family - a tubby bear (12 cm) !
As long as he is new to the family he is very very shy.

Rabbits and Christmas ornaments

And the last pair of Christmas rabbits. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrabits with Christmas balls (felted of course). One with hoodie sweater and another with a nice carrot broach on the chest, both are in winter felted boots. Positive, cheerful, filled with soul and love.

Christmas rabbits with snowmen

A few more rabbits of Christmas theme. Rabbits (14-15 cm) with felted snowmen (6-7 cm). I must say that felting wool is the most appropriate material for crafting  Christmas, New Year or any winter projects.
Though I don't like this word much, but these snowmen came out very very CUTE.
