Lunch tote for my husband

One more lunch tote after a long period of time. I've fallen in love with that polar bear design. The pattern is again from my beloved sew4home, and the tutorial is here. 

My husband liked it a lot. It's just perfect for his lunch box, has a small pocket in front, and closing on a Velcro.

The bag finishes at approximately 11" tall (excluding the handles) x 7" wide x 3" deep. The handle loops extend an additional 9" beyond the top edge.

My son (5 year old) has recently started key board musical classes, and instead of irritating alwaysmakingnoise plastic bag for books that he had to drag to musical school every time, I decided to make this comfortable backpack. Fox outfit for a small girl

All started from buying a nice foxie dress for my daughter (1 year old) for attending a birthday party. I liked that dress a lot and decided to make it accomplished with some accessories.

So I made a foxie bag, hair clips and a broach.

The broach and clips are all from fusible beads.

Transparent bag for toys

This one made following the tutorial Clear Toy Storage Bags (with drawstring closure).

Very nice idea especially for small toys and constructors.

Fabric basket for ironed clothes

I think it's only in India you can find special points (booths) where you can give your clothes for ironing. They are situated almost on every street. People there are ironing with heavy irons run on charcoals all day long.

I came up with the idea of a bag where you can see the number of clothes laid in layers. The top and bottom part of the bag are quilted. In the center the clear vinyl strip. At the back of it there is a transparent pocket for a slip of paper to write the total for the ironing services.

Size of the bag is approx 15 X 15,5 X 12 inches. Quite spacious!

Tall Fabric Box-Basket

This fabric basket is approximately 8" square and 10" tall. I made it specially for my daughter's toys.The tutorial is taken from here.

As usual my favorite orange color fabrics. I made some quilting in heart shape along the white stripes to make it more appealing, and at the same time practiced free motion quilting.

Yes, Lunch bags and this is the first post.

Initially I decided to make one for my husband who is caring his lunch box in a shabby plastic bag. But while browsing in the Internet I found so many nice ideas that decided to try multiple options. This one which I am presenting here is the one chosen by my husband others are ready but waiting for adding a final touch.

Pencil case

I just found this tutorial while browsing for something else. And suddenly it clicked that that's what I really need for myself. As when attending my dancing classes I always have problems finding a pen or a pencil in my bag. That it's become so frustrating, not to mention about funding an eraser among all the books and copybooks and all the stuff inside.

And of course I could not resist attaching a cake pendant.

Felted Bag

Here is the outcome of the felting tutorial which I attended during my stay in Nizhniy Novgorod in Russia. 
Though the word "tutorial" sounds very officially. I was felting at the cozy kitchen at home of  a very friendly lady Tatyana Nesterenko, whose felting articles I really admire, and of course I had been waiting and planning my visit to her place far ahead  with intention to learn how to felt bags.

Here is her shop with really remarkable and amazing bags, purses and other cute articles.

It took almost all day to felt this small purse, of course with lunch and tea-coffee brakes. We started around 9 a.m. and finished at 7 p.m. 
Here are the pictures made by Tatyana's husband capturing the process of felting and drawing with wool. It's very interesting activity but also tiring because it requires good amount of strength and stamina to felt the wool.

Diaper bag

As you might have understood already from the pictures, I've also become keen on sewing bags :)Here is my first bag - a diaper bag or mom's bag. Anyways we are going to travel a lot this year, so I need a big spacious bag for organizing all necessary things for my kid.I found a very nice tutorial hereThe bag is approximately 14" x 14" x 6".

Rainbow purses

Today I'm with small purses designed by Vendulka Maderska. 

Just a nice gift for pretty girls, whose moms like to pamper them with cute dresses and multiple accessories to match.

Bead purse

Another long project is finish.

I would not say it's finished successfully, because still there are quite some drawbacks which I'll take into account next time I make such item.

The purse is circularly crocheted with beads. The design of the sides I made myself (the charts are on my previous posts about this bead purse).

Sizes: 13 cm diameter.

One of the drawback, except for the Indian beads which are not properly calibrated, is that I made too many even rows at the end (without increase). Due to it the edgings started rolling inside dramatically. I thought that it will be solved once I stitch two halves together, but it didn't. Moreover, it leads to deformation of the round shape at the open top of the purse. So I needed to insert some hard wires for keeping the shape. And due to this drawback the purse looks bulky.

Never the less it comes out nice provided that it was my first trial in crochet with beads. I become very fond of the technics so definitely try more.

After a long period of time I finished the second part of my future beaded purse. I changed the pattern as long as I am not very keen on repeating the same things.

One more bottle cover

One more item moved from "Current orders" tag and now I have time for my pending projects. These bottle covers seems to be very due in Indian weather condition, especially when you travel or go out for entire day, they keep your hands free but you always have your water at hand.

Crochet bag

So here we are with a new bag in  "24 heures” Durel Dublin style. Finally it's moved from the "Current orders" tag. This time I added some design of my beloved paisleys and instead of the traditional side brushes I made felted balls.

So after long long trials here is the first valued result. One piece of my future beaded bag.

There is no bad experience

I think it's better to start with describing all the experience with beading the purse, may be it'll be of any use for somebody. I had had a great number of trials before I could finally made something proper. Many times I was dissatisfied with the result and willingly unwinding my work starting it again and again, trying it in different ways.

Cover for portable hard disc

I could not resist to start a new project while running three more at the same time. Every day I saw my husband's portable hard disc getting thick layers of dust...Guess how I decided to solve this problem. Of course to knit a cover. I was inspired by one picture found on the Internet, though  it's a laptop cover, I decided to dare and make something similar to this. Have a look what has come out finally.
