Well, just thought of knitting a vest for my son, because we will be travelling quite much at the end of the year. As long as it's not very cold at the places we are gong to, I decided to make a vest instead of pullover. It will be quite handy for travelling in the train or bus with air conditioning, he will not feel too hot, but it will keep him warm enough, coz it's woolen. It's been made according to DROPS design.
And here is the hat. The instruction was also taken from DROPS design site.
And this is a picture with my first sleeping sack I made when I was pregnant. We could not use it as it was not cold...so decided to make a picture while it's more or less fitting to him.
One additional accessory for my sling is ready. There are actually many names for this necklace: sling necklace, Mommy's necklace, nursing necklace and feeding necklace. It is quite multi functional. It keeps the baby busy. It is really good in gums scratching and also helps the baby to differentiate colors, sizes, shapes, textures, as long as some crochet creatures on it :). It's very helpful when you are walking with the baby or attending some public places. And finally it's a great and beautiful accessory. Unfortunately, the weather was so dull here and rainy, so it effected my photos: they came out a bit dark and dull too. So I have chosen a sea theme, and here is how it looks like.
I've got a small break from my endless projects for the order of a Mermaid set.
This time I had a different and a bit more complicated approach to make the tail.
I chose a pattern with the shell stitches, so that it looks like a fish scales. And I started my work from the top with the ridged rib pattern, then cast on stitches for the main pattern. For that I took some idea from here.
This time it's neither crochet nor knitting, but simple stitching. I made this sling long time ago, but have happened to use it just recently when I needed my hands to be free, and my boy was so impatient that he could not see how I was moving here and there without him in my hands.
I don't want to describe how I made it and all the dimensions, I will just say that I got these special rings from Russia. They are very durable and can bear up to 120 kg of weight: so your back will brake but not the rings :))) Any useful information can be found by the following links.
Two more toys for my baby. He is growing very fast and already started grabbing things, and my toys have become the objects for his attention. Here are the links I used to make toys though again I had to make some changes. http://susanbanderson.blogspot.in/2007/04/page-18-elefante.html http://www.liveinternet.ru/users/domik_der/post214832992/ http://twinsknit.blogspot.in/2008/07/flower-power-elephants.html This is the power flower elephant. With such a long trunk it can sniff in any flower.
Hello! It's the first toy for my boy! Hope when he is interested in playing toys he will appreciate my handmade toys by making them his favorite in his collection.
In India it's still winter season, so I decided to knit socks for my 1 month boy to keep his legs warm and comfortable, provided he doesn't allow to wrap and cover him properly in any wraps.
